Status in “openjdk-6” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released
Bug description:
Description: Ubuntu 9.10
Release: 9.10
sun-java6-jre 6-15-1
When using the Sun Java 6 JRE, audio from applets within Firefox are not producing audio through Pulseaudio. For me to reproduce this bug I perform the following:
1. Pick a software defined radio station from http://www.websdr.org
2. Applet starts, try to tune frequency with buttons or clicking underneath the spectrum
Notes about trying to resolve this:
1. I tried the OpenJDK with the Icedtea plugin. Audio does not work with Pulseaudio but does work with the ALSA commented settings as per bug #407299, however, the Javascript -> Java bridge of perhaps this specific applet become broken, and is probably a separate bug.
2. Tried also to explicitly set the ALSA settings in the comments of the /etc/java-6-sun/sound.properties as per what is done with the OpenJDK file like #407299, this does not.
3. Using AOSS or PADSP to launch Firefox hangs, and also hangs when editing these scripts to include it immediately after the exec line.
Thank you so much for your efforts!
