[Bug 482467] Re: package openjdk-6-jre-headless 6b16-1.6.1-1ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 255
there are still dependencies; you could use the equivs package to
provide the needed dependencies and then remove openjdk. but it's not
recommended.
the actual error is:
Setting up openjdk-6-jre-headless (6b16-1.6.1-1ubuntu3) ...
update-alternatives: warning: forcing reinstallation of alternative /usr/lib/jvm/default-java/bin/java because link group java is broken.
Can't call method "slave" on an undefined value at /usr/sbin/update-alternatives line 1017.
dpkg: error processing openjdk-6-jre-headless (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 255
so something did go wrong with the alternatives.
