[Bug 561040] Re: [lucid] icedtea-gcjwebplugin is removed on upgrade, should do something graceful to keep plugin working

Okay, that didn't work. Comment #7 is my explanation of my attempt to
switch this to being filed as a bug against icedtea6-plugin. However,
after I did that, the web interface came up with this message:

'icedtea6-plugin' is a binary package. This bug has been assigned to its
source package 'openjdk-6' instead.

I'm not sure at this point how to bring this bug to the attention of
people who are actually handling bug reports for the plugin aspects of
java...?

You received this bug notification because you are a member of OpenJDK,
which is subscribed to openjdk-6 in ubuntu.

Status in “openjdk-6” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed

Bug description:
Binary package hint: update-manager

Before upgrading from Karmic to Lucid beta 2, I had the icedtea6-plugin package installed and selected, and java applets were working in firefox. After upgrading, icedtea6-plugin was deselected, and no java plugin showed up in firefox when I entered about:plugins in the URL bar. To make java applets work again, I had to do an apt-get install icedtea6-plugin to reselect the package. The package was still cached on my system; it just needed to be reselected manually.
