Status in “openjdk-6” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete

Bug description:
While trying to install Google's GWT Plugin for eclipse, the Java VM would crash, and eclipse would
exit. This makes it rather impossible to install GWT ://

A similar bug was reported here: <http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9103095>

Output from the terminal follows:

My uname -a:
Linux snotskie-laptop 2.6.31-20-generic #58-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 12 05:23:09 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux

This is a fresh install (setting up my primary development machine):
First I installed by the previous Ubuntu version's (9.04) LiveCD followed by an update to 9.10.
Next I installed the following: <http://debathena.mit.edu/install>
After that, Screem HTML/XML Editor from the Software Center.
That's when I proceeded to find this bug here ://
