[Bug 609881] Re: icedtea fails on Internet-bank-ID app in Norway

I don't have the dpkg listing available, but my root command history
has:

# dpkg --purge icedtea-6-jre-cacao icedtea6-plugin

They should be these:
# apt-cache policy icedtea-6-jre-cacao icedtea6-plugin
icedtea-6-jre-cacao:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 6b18-1.8-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
     6b18-1.8-0ubuntu1 0
        500 ftp://ftp.uninett.no/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages
icedtea6-plugin:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 6b18-1.8-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
     6b18-1.8-0ubuntu1 0
        500 ftp://ftp.uninett.no/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages

Are these two the same as you have? If so I shall purge sun-java6 and
it's relations and retry the icedtea.

Status in “openjdk-6” package in Ubuntu: New

Bug description:
Binary package hint: icedtea-6-jre-cacao

Upgraded to lucid from 9.10.

Logging into the internet bank failed. First something came up with the wrong URL for a page with the main login applet. Fixing the URL the app does not start. Something wrong with the firefox profile? Quit.

"mv .mozilla/firefox .mozilla/firefox-old"

Restart. No go. What kind of java? Icedtea? What's that, I used to run sun-java6. Hit google. Purge icedtea, get sun-java6 from partner repo. Worked.

How to reproduce: It helps to be a norwegian internet bank user, but it's not required.
1. Go to www.handelsbanken.no
2. Top right dropdown menu select "- nettbank" and click OK.
3. In the input field after "Fødselsnummer" fill in a value in the form of DDMMYYNNNNN, e.g., 01010112345. Press "Utfør".

If using icedtea in lucid a URL error message comes up - it appears that the URL is calculated with a java-applet but I don't really know. If using sun-java6 the login applet starts (it is signed).
