Exactly the same problem with Natty Beta and NetBeans 7.0RC1 and 6.9
too.

However I can launch it using sudo...

Bug description:
  Just installed Natty Beta, and with default JRE + Netbeans 7.0rc1 I'm
  getting a crash on load (splash screen loads, then dies).

  Netbeans 7.0 should be out at around the same time as Natty.
