[Bug 881834] Re: Please remove openjdk-6b18 source from precise, oneiric
I looked into oneiric and all of the binaries except openjdk-6-jre-zero
are superseded by the openjdk-6 binaries. openjdk-6 does provide this
package. Steve, can you comment on what is going on here?
Regardless of what is happening with openjdk-6-jre-zero, it's in
universe and since all the other binaries are superseded, we can
probably just mark this as "Won't Fix".

Title:
Please remove openjdk-6b18 source from precise, oneiric
Status in “openjdk-6b18” package in Ubuntu:

Status in “openjdk-6b18” source package in Oneiric:
Incomplete
Status in “openjdk-6b18” source package in Precise:
Fix Released
Bug description:
The openjdk-6b18 source package was introduced in earlier releases
specifically for the armel architecture because the newer releases of
openjdk/icedtea 6 were failing to build on armel. The binary packages
provided by the openjdk-6b18 are a subset of the same named packages
provided by the openjdk-6 package, just with an earlier version.
In precise and oneiric, the version icedtea-6 has been fixed to allow
it to build (and works) on armel, and thus the binary packages from
the openjdk-6b18 source are superceded by the packages from the
openjdk-6 6b23 source. Furthermore, the openjdk-6b18 package FTBFS on
oneiric and precise. These source packages should be pulled, at a
minimum from precise, and probably from oneiric as well (if possible).
