Title:
wrong font rendering in java application
Status in “openjdk-6” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
java application (client to scrabble online game from
www.scrabbleonline.sk site) looks differently in windows and in
ubuntu. in ubuntu its unplayable because of that (... in some content,
lettersare higher so Ŕ and R look the same etc.).
before i took it as fact, but in 10.10 i played with font
configuration and set fonts exactly as it is in windows. result is
that this time game is playable, but still looks different. even if
font is the same (taken from sun java package or copied from windows
java installation)
i understand that font rendering is different library in windows and
in linux, but i don't believe its ok that fonts are rendered with
different width and height....
