Please tell us what happens to your server. Does the server hang or
crash ? Does this coincide with logged activity in the minecraft
directory ? Do you suspect DEP ?

  Minecraft-server (CraftBukkit based) crashes often

Status in “openjdk-7” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Using Java 7 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS x64. This also happened on Java 6
  with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS x64. I've tried running the exact same server on
  Windows and there are no crashes.

  $ lsb_release -rd
  Description:    Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
  Release:        12.04
