Message #11155
Bug#798946: Debian bug report
Package: icedtea-netx-common
Version: 1.5.2-1.1
Hi,
Package icedtea-netx-common provides the desktop file
/usr/share/applications/icedtea-netx-javaws.desktop which is supposed to
launch javaws; but the javaws binary is located in package icedtea-netx.
Consequently, if package icedtea-netx isn't installed, the desktop file
can't work.
For example on my Sid MATE desktop I have installed sweethome3d which
depends on icedtea-netx-common, and the "IcedTea Web Control Panel" in
the settings menu doesn't launch anything.
Solution: move /usr/share/applications/icedtea-netx-javaws.desktop to
the icedtea-netx package.
I noticed that in the package sources, the matching lintian warning is
overriden, with "handled by alternatives" as comment, but obviously,
this isn't working as intended.
Regards,
