[Bug 1960096] [NEW] package ca-certificates-java 20190909 failed to install/upgrade: installed ca-certificates-java package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 127

 

Public bug reported:

The bug appeared during the *clean* installation of openjdk-18-jdk. The
package was installed using `apt install openjdk-18-jdk --no-install-
recommends`. It's important to mention that no previous java has been
installed, so no `java` executable existed on post-install.

The cause of the problem is:

Processing triggers of ca-certificates (20210119ubuntu1) …
Updating certificates in /etc/ssl/certs...
0 added, 0 removed; done.
Running hooks in /etc/ca-certificates/update.d...

/etc/ca-certificates/update.d/jks-keystore: 82: java: not found
E: /etc/ca-certificates/update.d/jks-keystore exited with code 1.
