We are not doing much with video. We just use phonon or Webkit video tags.  The interactions with the displays are controlled by xine and gstreamer.  All your comments tell me you are still using xine.  
On my machine black screen with audio = xine.   This turned out the be a configuration issue in the KDe settings dialogue.
If you are using gnome I have no ideas.

Status in OpenLP - Worship Presentation Software: New

Bug description:
After updating from the dev repo in Ubuntu (Gnome) Video playback no longer functions for me. It had worked perfectly for the last couple of months I have tried this on two different machines that were functioning well before this. I am currently running openlp build 997.
