As I play with it, if I use the alert option, I then can not get a full
single display, I only get a part of the song/background that is
displayed in the alert window at the top. I have to close openlp to
reset it back to full display. this does not happen every time but often
enough.

settings>Configure Openlp> Alert

When choosing option to where to place the alert on the display, that options is not past on. all other options like font, colors, timing ,etc are past on correctly.
