It's half fixed. It now shows the correct blank icon.
However it is still showing as un-pressed, and now the blank/unblank state stays out of sync from that point on.

  Blank icon confused if blank song then go live on ppt

Status in OpenLP - Worship Presentation Software:
  In Progress

Bug description:
  Add a song and a presentation to a service.
  Go live on the song.
  Blank to black the song using the icon on the live slide controller.
  Go live on the powerpoint.

  The powerpoint correctly starts blanked. However the slide controller
  blank icon isn't shown as pressed, and it shows the Show desktop icon
  rather than the Black blank icon. Selecting the black icon from the
  dropdown list correctly unblanks the show and all is OK from that
  point on.
