Can't say I'm much smarter Wesley, if at all, but sadly the blame is
likely to be all OpenLP rather than PowerPoint itself.

However 119 slides is rather a lot! I'm interested to know Jeremy why
you are not using the built-in song functionality of OpenLP to display
songs and are using PowerPoints instead? If you're persevering with
PPT's, splitting the big powerpoint into individual files, one per song,
would likely reduce memory usage.

Bug description:
  On some PP presentations, previewing gets up to 900 Meg of ram usage,
  then going live it climbs to 1.7 Gig of ram usage and crashes.
