[Bug 780020] Re: installer doesn't pin openlp on windows 7

 

Windows 7, by design, does not allow programs to create icons pinned to
taskbar.  This function can only be performed by the user.

If you pin Openlp to the taskbar, then do another installation, the
installation process first "uninstalls" openlp (keeping all registry and
data settings), then performs the new installation.  Unfortunately,
during the uninstall, the pinned icon is removed from the taskbar.

The install item "Create a Quick Launch Icon" only works if you are
installing on Windows XP (and probably should not be an option if
Windows 7).

The windows build of OpenLP is created on a Windows 7 machine.  I've run
the setup dozens of times and never paid attention to the icon not being
created even though the item was checked during the install.
