I'm using 1.9.6 build 1758.

Verse splits split the verse only if the verse will not fit on one page.
The way they appear to work is as more of a hint saying "If you have to
split the verse, split it here."  If the verse fits on the display page,
OpenLP ignores the verse split and shows the whole verse on one display
page.

What I'm asking for is a way to say "Split the verse here" regardless of
whether the verse would fit on one display page or not.

There are often other reasons besides space to split a verse between
multiple display pages.   These have to do with fitting the lyrics
displayed to the musical phrasing and also readability.

I'm attaching a .png showing how the Verse Split is currently ignored if
the verse fits on one page.
