Jon tested this and it works. I retested it and it works. 
Bottom line, it works the way it should and I must have been doing something wrong testing.

Title:
  brackets in song title and custom slides

Status in OpenLP - Worship Presentation Software:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  In the song title if you use <> to bracket a word it will not be visible in the footer when displayed.
  This does not work in Custom Slides. Should it be uniform and work the same in both Songs and Custom?
