  VLC backend should be greyed out instead of being hidden when not
  available

Bug description:
  Hello,

  When you do not have vlc installed on your computer, the vlc backend
  is hidden in the settings tab. But it should not be hidden, just
  greyed out. Maybe with some text why it is greyed out and what can be
  done to enable it (install VLC).
