Message #15232
[Bug 904690] Re: cloning a song does not retain splits
Yes it is valid. If we clone a song then the cloned song should be
identical to the original. This is an internal process (not an
export/import) so whether or not OpenLyrics is at fault is not the
issue, the degenerate cloning is!
I believe we can do this with OpenLyrics though by using verse tags v1a
v1b v1c, etc and then re-importing them back as duplicate tags. I think
there is a different bug about this.

Bug description:
Cloning a song does not retain the Verse splits. Example below
Original song:
---[Verse:1]---
What Child is this who laid to rest
On Mary's lap is sleeping
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet
While shepherds watch are keeping
---[Verse:1]---
This this is Christ the King
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing
Haste haste to bring Him laud
The Babe the Son The Glorious One
The Babe the Son of Mary
Cloned:
---[Verse:1]---
What Child is this who laid to rest
On Mary's lap is sleeping
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet

Haste haste to bring Him laud
The Babe the Son The Glorious One
The Babe the Son of Mary
