Message #15301
[Bug 900686] Re: Media volume slider doesn't work when using phonon backend
The bug is still there - however it only exhibits itself after the media
backend has been changed to phonon and before OpenLP has been restarted.
Steps I use to test (Kubuntu 11.10):
Start OpenLP
Go into settings and change the media backend to VLC only.
Play a media item and check that the volume slider works as expected.
Go back into settings and change the media backend to Phonon only.
Play the same media item and on my system at least, the volume slider has no effect.
Restart OpenLP
Play the same media item, and the volume slider works this time.
So I would think that there is something that is not being initialised
properly on saving the media backend change, but gets set on OpenLP
startup.
On a probably unrelated topic, I also notice the media control buttons
disappear on a currently live media item when the media backend setting
has been changed, and the item needs to be sent live again.

Title:
Media volume slider doesn't work when using phonon backend
Status in OpenLP - Worship Presentation Software:
Incomplete
Bug description:
OS: Kubuntu 11.10
OpenLP: Trunk revision 1823
Steps to reproduce:
1)First, make sure that you are using phonon to play media.
2) Move a media item across to the service manager.
3) Send the media item live, and start it playing
4) Adjust the media volume slider - the sound does not change volume or mute when dragged all the way to the left
If I change the media backend to use webkit, then the media volume
slider works as expected.
