This is not fully true. On my System PowerPoint Viewer works very fine
with wine.

To follow my steps: 
- Use openSuse 11.2
- install wine 1.4 
- make sure that lcms (32-bit ) is allready installed
- download script "winetricks " (#terminal: wget http://kegel.com/wine/winetricks -O ~/bin/winetricks)
- install "MS XML Core Services 3.0" with winetricks (#terminal: winetricks msxml3)
- install PowerPoint Viewer 2007 with wine
- start PowerPoint Viewer 2007

  powerpoint viewer not found from openLP

Status in OpenLP - Worship Presentation Software:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  We use openLP in 1.9.9 Version on Linux (openSuse 12.1) from the official repository.
  I have installed PowerPoint Viewer 2007 with wine. 
  openLP will not find the installed PowerPoint Viewer. 

  (Maybe it is possible to write the path in a config-file?)
