This is an OS X specific bug. I think it has to do with the fact that on
Mac OS X webkit basically freezes the UI when used to play a video
meaning you have to hold the 'esc' key for several seconds for it to
register.

Bug description:
  In one-monitor setup and with webkit media backend the video
  fullscreen mode can't be exited by pressing 'Esc' key as with other
  backends (vlc, phonon).

  Tested on osx.
