Just tested this branch, and I'm impressed!
I see others has already swamped you with suggestions, so I'll keep it short.
To see how to include icons in resource.py read this: http://wiki.openlp.org/Development:Form_Design
I agree with Samuel that many or some of the options in the right-click menu should be available in a toolbar, as known from other WYSIWYG editors.
