I cannot reproduce this on Archlinux using trunk (~beta2) with LibreOffice 4.4.0.3, with Gnome 3.14.1.
So maybe it is an issue related to KDE or LibreOffice 4.2.x?

  KUbuntu 14.04 (latest updates as of 09Feb2015)

  When sending a presentation live with LibreOffice, the output is
  initially minimized. To show presentation, you have to click on the
  minimized libreoffice impress in desktop task manager.
