Are you talking about the whole display or the functions which change things?
When do you expect to enter the user id and password?

Bug description:
Steps to reproduce:
- Enable user authentication in the remote settings with https disabled.
- Open the remote in a web browser.
- No password prompt is displayed and the remote is shown.
Expected behavior:
- Opening the remote with user authentication turned on should prompt for authentication.
Tested with trunk (rev 2497)
