[Bug 854681] Re: Save custom verse order in service item
I would like to chime in on this.
We have recently moved from OpenSong to OpenLP 2.1.5, and are finding it overall much better!
This however is one of the feature that we miss.
In OpenSong there exists the ability to set a custom song order that only applies to a single service.
This is a very useful feature for a few reasons: Worship leaders like to change song orders around, sometimes we only want to do part of a song (eg, the chorus), sometimes a worhip leader decides that they want to start a song with the chorus instead of a verse...
Being able to define a song order that only applies to a single service
is, in my opinion, a much cleaner option than having multiple clones of
a song with different variations of order.
An even better, but much more complicated, option would be to replicate
ProPresenter's arrangments feature...

Title:
Save custom verse order in service item
Status in OpenLP:
Confirmed
Bug description:
From the forums:
"Our worship leader sometimes changes the verse/chorus order of a
song. It would be nice if he could have a copy of openlp on his
computer and he can create the order of service with the order of the
verses the way he would want them. Then he can send me a copy of the
order of service which I could just use for the service."
"I agree - it would be nice to be able to specify a custom song
presentation order for a particular service. That way we can also
choose to only sing certain verses of a song or skip verses without
having to jump around too much when presenting the song."
