[Bug 1612811] [NEW] Live/Output display does not update when Bypass X11 Windows Manager is enabled

Public bug reported:

The live/output/projector display does not get updated as an item is
progressed (e.g. through verses of a song), or if changing to another
item.

This is with OpenLP 2.4.1 (from the "openlp-core" PPA) on Ubuntu 16.04,
with the "Bypass X11 Window Manager" option enabled.

That option is enabled so that Ubuntu Unity's top bar does not overlap
the top of the output display. The issue seems to go away if that
option is disabled, but unfortunately the option is needed.

A workaround I've found is to toggle "Show Desktop" on and off an number
of times which eventually seems to resolve the issue for the current
running OpenLP. But once OpenLP is closed and relaunched, the issue
returns.

It may be useful to note that the computer has an Nvidia graphs card,
and the proprietary Nvidia graphics driver is being used. However I did
temporarily switch to the open source Nouveau driver, and the issue
still occurred.

The computer was previously running OpenLP 2.2.x on Ubuntu 14.04, where
the "Bypass X11 Window Manager" option was also enabled. This issue has
only appeared since the computer was rebuilt with Ubuntu 16.04 and
OpenLP 2.4.1.

>From the posts on the OpenLP blog, I can see that issues with the display not updating are apparently expected for 2.4.x on Windows, but alas this is not on Windows. Also, I've found an old bug, #1281309, relating to OpenLP 2.0.1 with the "Bypass X11 Window Manager" option enabled and seemingly similar symptoms, which was reportedly fixed in a later release.

Apologies if this issue has already been fixed in OpenLP 2.4.2, but that release does not yet appear to be in the "openlp-core" PPA for Ubuntu.

** Affects: openlp
