You need to install the pkg-config tool on your distribution. If you are 
on Ubuntu you can achieve this with the command "apt-get install 
pkg-config".

In the next version (3.0.0) the physical layer plugins will already be 
included in the core package and some elements will be improved.
It should be release during April.
