I reemerged mlt with some new USE flags:

USE="melt ffmpeg quicktime xine frei0r wavpack lame schroedinger"

and now melt and openshot are working properly.

  Openshot starts but doesn't show up

Status in OpenShot Video Editor:

Bug description:
  When i try to run openshot it only outputs this in console:

  adrian@localhost ~ $ openshot

  Failed to import 'from openshot import main'
  Error Message: cannot import name main
  ----------------------------------------------------------------
  --------------------------------
     OpenShot (version 1.4.0)
  --------------------------------
  Process no longer exists: 8779.  Creating new pid lock file.
  Failed to import VimeoClient.  Removed Vimeo from upload screen, to allow OpenShot to continue working.

  Detecting formats, codecs, and filters...
  adrian@localhost ~ $

  it just exits after a moment.

  OS: Gentoo
  Installation: from tar.gz package
  openshot version: 1.4.0
