About that, I don't understand what do you want ?  Sorry.

About crashes,  there are several reasons. 
First, check all your dependencies. Only one missing could provide this state. See here for having more explanations. Normally, I created a thread for the 1.4.0 version but I can not find it. :-(.
This one is nearly the same that this one for Oneiric.

  Provide openshot-dev package

Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
  New

Bug description:
  During 2 weeks of cutting 2hours of video to a final one hour video,
  we experienced about 50 crashes of openshot, which is unnerving.

  I started openshot with gdb to get backtraces for the developers to
  find out what's wrong, but the backtraces are useless because no devel
  package exists for openshot.

  Please provide an openshot-dev package which contains all necessary
  information to get usable backtraces.
