Dylan, thanks for reporting a bug.  However, I think I see the problem.  Your path to the blender executable is not correct.  Please try this instead:
/home/YOURUSER/Desktop/Blender2.61/blender

Just be sure to change YOURUSER to your actual username.  To manually test this path, enter this command in the terminal:
$ ./home/YOURUSER/Desktop/Blender2.61/blender

Just a period in front of the path, to temporarily grant execute permissions.  Good luck.

  Cannot use animated titles

Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  When I try to use animated titles it gives me an error about Blenders
  location even though I have specified where the blender executable is
  in the preferences.
