[Bug 915963] Re: GUI bug on new project dialog

I see what you mean, but unfortunately we can't fix it, it is a GTK bug.
Maybe the behaviour is different in GTK3...

See here for an example bug report:

Title:
GUI bug on new project dialog

Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
  Ubuntu 11.10
I installed it by downloading the latest installer from lauchpad
  version1.4.0

On the new project dialog, in type selection menu when firstly scroll
up the list, appears to have many empty options above the first and
the list although is empty above the first option can be scrolled up
  to infinity

These are the steps for creating the bug:
  1. open the new project window
  2. press the menu for selection type of project
  3. scroll up the list and the list shows too many empty options
  4. when scroll down the list and then scroll up works fine
