Andy: They were avi -files. In fact, the files were originally .vob's
from dv-camera. I converted them to .avi with Avidemux, then edited with
Openshot. The crashes has happened exactly the same way in two different
PC's and two different Ubuntu -versions, so i guess the problem isn't
there.

  Ubuntu 12.04
  Openshot 1.4.2
  HP Pavilion desktop
  AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+ 
  4Gb RAM
  Nvidia GeForce GT9400

  Openshot crashes when editing video. It happens every time if the
  video is quite long and the process takes time. Maybe an hour or so...
  Just basic editing, some headers etc...nothing fancy. The app gets
  slower to response, then it crashes eventually.

  1.4.0 crashed exactly the same way.
