[Bug 1042888] Re: Crashes when mkv-Files are dragged into the timeline
This is no answer, really. I had checked the video in question with
both, ffplay and melt and it is played without flawlessly. I am giving
up on Openshot specifically and video editing on linux in general. There
is no linux video editing software around (yet) which provides
reliability and professional results for crossplatform video
presentation. I am sure you guys have invested a lot of time and love
into Openshot, but it's still much too buggy and too unreliable.

Title:
Crashes when mkv-Files are dragged into the timeline
Status in OpenShot Video Editor:
New
Bug description:
I am able to import matrushka-Files (.mkv) into Openshot, but when dragging them into the timeline Openshot takes up to 8 minutes for 6 MB and then crashes without any message.
Running the 1.4.2 on Precise Pang (Ubuntu 12.04) on a 64bit architecture with lots of cores and ram.
