Message #05568
[Bug 1618640] [NEW] OpenShot 2.1 unusable (suspected focus issue) on LM 17.3 Xfce (Ubuntu 14.04 base)
Public bug reported:
I just upgraded to the latest openshot version which I installed from
the ppa (http://ppa.launchpad.net/openshot.developers/ppa/ubuntu/
trusty/main amd64 Packages)
What I got when I tried it out seems to be a focus problem with the
tutorials bubble.
After starting the application, the 'bubble' with the tutorial flickered
continuously, and did not react to clicks on its buttons.
CPU load skyrocketed.
While I drag the openshot window, the CPU load goes down, and the
flickering stops.
Alt+Tab to switch applications did not work anymore, because the
tutorial thing appears to steal the focus.
I was able to load a gif file, though, once. After this, openshot did
not react to any further clicks I made in its interface.
Closing the application via the window decoration buttons works,
fortunately.
Is there a workaround to deactivate the tutorials, via some preference
setting, maybe? Could be that would be all that's needed for openshot to
at least be usable.
System info:
============
64bit, LM 17.3 Xfce, openshot ppa version:
2.1.0+0+668+103+201608300650~ubuntu14.04.1, no ffmpeg, no libavcodec (as
far as I could find).
$ apt-cache policy libavcodec
libavcodec54 libavcodec-dev libavcodec-extra libavcodec-extra-54
$ apt-cache policy libavcodec54
libavcodec54:
Installiert: (keine)
Installationskandidat: 6:9.18-0ubuntu0.14.04.1
$ apt-cache policy melt
melt:

Thanks!
