I've fixed it now, but inputing the PPA instructions from the OpenShot
website into Ubuntu 12.04 did break a few things on my computer for a
while. I needed to go into my sources list and delete the files
referring to 'ppa:jonoomph/openshot-edge'. This wasn't obvious to do, as
the error made the software centre not want to open, making it tricky to
get to my sources list...

Bug description:
  When putting the PPA instructions into the terminal, it lets me know
  that line 3 is broken. It has mangled the updater and the software
  centre, and I'm a bit of a noob so this is a major problem...
