Re: PPA Packaging Question
Here is an update on what I've been working on over the weekend. I've
successfully published a PPA of OpenShot 0.9.52 for Karmic (
https://launchpad.net/~jonoomph/+archive/openshot-edge<https://launchpad.net/%7Ejonoomph/+archive/openshot-edge>).
However, there is a catch. I haven't figured out how to upload the Python
Bindings for MLT into my PPA yet. That's what I'm working on now. All the
other libraries will link to Karmic libraries, such as MLT, FFmpeg, Frie0r,
and x264. At least that's my plan right now. We'll see if I'm able to
figure it all out. Debian packaging has been a really complicated thing to
learn. Hopefully, if I can get it working, it will use all of the Karmic
libraries, and thus... not have any of the crazy FFmpeg or MLT compatibility
issues.
Just to be clear, this new PPA only installs OpenShot. It won't work
without all of the dependencies (including the MLT Python Bindings)
installed manually. It's a work-in-progress.
