Message #03497
New Feature... Adding multiple clips to the timeline quickly
Greetings everyone!
I have been thinking about adding a quick and easy way to add multiple clips
to the timeline. I am really leaning towards the following concept... and I
would love to hear feedback about it. Here is how it will work:
Step 1) Select two or more files from the "Project Files" tree that need to
be added to the timeline
Step 2) Right click on the selected items in the tree... and choose "Add To
Timeline..."
Step 3) The "Add to Timeline" dialog opens (with a list of the selected
files) - see attached image
Step 4) The user tweaks the settings, such as transitions, animations, and
fade settings, and then clicks "Add".
Step 5) OpenShot will create 1 or 2 new tracks (so not to mess up anything),
and add all of the selected clips, with the transitions, animations, and
fades already set.
This addresses a few different common scenarios, such as:
A) Photo slides-shows
B) Assembling many videos together in sequence (with transitions between
each clip)
C) Adding multiple clips to the timeline
The screenshot is just a mock-up, so hopefully it makes sense to everyone.
Thanks,
-Jonathan
