Re: Cactus BranchMergeProposalFreeze now in effect

Hi Thierry,

Does the branch merge proposal freeze also affect branches "On hold" for merging? (i.e.: branches which are being fixed after a review)

Thanks,
Salvatore

Subject: [Openstack] Cactus BranchMergeProposalFreeze now in effect

Hello everyone,

BranchMergeProposalFreeze is now in effect. Note that this only affects branches that introduce new features or changes in expected behavior ("feature branches"), not branches fixing bugs ("bugfix branches").

You can still propose feature branches for merging, until FeatureFreeze (end of day, March 24), but:

 * You have to follow the exception procedure described at http://wiki.openstack.org/BranchMergeProposalFreeze (basically, add a comment on the merge proposal justifying the exception)

 * Branches proposed before BMPFreeze get review priority, so there is no guarantee that your branch will get reviewed and considered for merging in time for FeatureFreeze

Given the size of their respective review queues, an exception is much more likely to be accepted in Glance and Swift than in Nova.

Regards,
