Josh, you raise an interesting point. This also affects the ability to search on these terms. On the other hand, having log messages in a language that the user doesn't understand will require those users to seek assistance when they might otherwise be able to solve the problems themselves.
It might be an interesting exercise to provide log messages in two languages (one always being English), if we don't simply standardize on English.
