That's surprising as the qpid code does:
if self.connection.heartbeat:
times.append(time.time() + self.connection.heartbeat)
Notice how time.time() is seconds, and so
heartbeat must be given in seconds.
Perhaps there is another issue with the scheduling of this?
How are you monitoring the connection?
