Can't this be fixed by configuring the underlying keyring config file to use a different backing storage?

Sigh, this bug fix actually creates worse bugs & we didn't appear to get
the fix for it merged before you cut the release :-( With this change I
have been unable to get nova client to work at all, outside of an X
session when the gnome-keyring package installed, which is basically any
default Fedora / GNOME install
