To followup on this; I want to let everyone know that if you are
interested in participating you are more than welcome. We currently
have 5 attendees and have room for 4 more. If you are interested; let
me know and 'll give you specific directions. The hours are 10am - 5pm.
It will help you get up to speed faster and get more done if you
accomplish the following tasks prior to arriving:
.....or if you can't attend the Sprint but want to see CLIPS running
inside OSHIP you can follow these instructions anyway. After the Sprint
and we have validated the installation and operation procedures I will
merge this branch into the OSHIP trunk and then update the EpiS3 branch
so we can begin work on the EpiS3 project. https://launchpad.net/epis3
1. Install the dse branch from the OSHIP site. This means that you
will follow the installation instructions for OSHIP for your operating
system as defined in the FAQs https://answers.launchpad.net/oship/+faqs
with the following exceptions:
a) where it says to create a virtual environment named oshipenv you
should create a virtual environment named oshipdse (therefore anywhere
it says oshipenv you should use oshipdse)
b) Instead of bzr branch lp:oship main use:
bzr branch lp:~oship-dev/oship/oship-dse
2. You should now be able to start the OSHIP server per the
installation instructions. You will see, among the deprecation warnings
a notice that your decision support engine is not installed. You will
need a C compiler for your platform to install it. There are
instructions to install the DSE iin oship/src/oship/docs/dse/dse.txt
3. You should install a 'clean' HTML editor like Bluefish:
http://bluefish.openoffice.nl/ in fact for the little bit of Python
coding you are going to be doing you can even use this editor though you
may be happier with Wing IDE Pro
http://www.wingware.com/downloads/wingide/ If you are using a 64 bit
machine to install WingIDE you have to install the Python 32 bit
compatibility libraries too. (on Linux) System->SynapticPackageManager
check that you have python2.5-dev, python-all, python-all-dev python-dev
(2.6)
4. Install the Ocean Archetype Editor on Windows machines.
http://www.oceaninformatics.com/ocean-informatics-resources/ocean-software-downloads.html
I'm not certain that the Java editor is up to date but Linux/Mac users
can give it a try. The download link is here:
http://www.imt.liu.se/mi/ehr/tools/
It is also VERY helpful to have the Archetype Workbench installed.
You can get it from the Ocean website as well.
5. Though not absolutely required. It is good to have a GPG key
registered with Launchpad. See:
https://help.launchpad.net/YourAccount/ImportingYourPGPKey
Cheers,
Tim
