OSHIP OPERATIONAL UPDATE
Hi All,
This email and the referenced FAQs contain important operational changes
that I hope simplify use and development of OSHIP. Your feedback is
appreciated.
***************************************************************
As of September 25, 2009 there have been some operational/procedural
changes for developers on the OSHIP project. I hope that these changes
make it easier for everyone to get started with development and bug
fixes as well as still provide those with some adventure the flexibility
still to create their own branches to try new things.
There is now an oship-users group https://launchpad.net/~oship-users
open to anyone interested in exploring OSHIP application development. I
plan to have better demos and documentation up NLT15 OCT 2009. But
answers are only an email away on the mailing list. Please join. The
developers also monitor this list.
I have edited the FAQs for installation from a branch labeled as stable.
Because; the trunk will no longer be in a steady stable state. It will
be open to collaborative, active development bug fixes and work towards
the 1.0 release. The trunk will be owned by the oship-dev team and
oship-mgmnt will own the stable branch and others as they are created.
We will pull, as available a stable branch for new users to download and
try out the latest development code. We plan to very soon release a 1.0
beta1
Installation notes are described by the FAQ for your operating system
at: https://answers.launchpad.net/oship/+faqs
For those wanting to contribute code to the project, see also the FAQ at

In order to expand the availability of reviewers for OSHIP translators
and lessen the burden on our translators I have changed the policies on
translations. We are now using the Structured permissions policies and
the Launchpad Translators group. Therefore if you have been working on
OSHIP translations and you are not yet a member of the Launchpad
Translators Group for your language please join at
https://translations.launchpad.net/+groups/launchpad-translators
