Using the Mailing List

Hi All,

I would like to point out how important it is to use the mailing list
instead of personal emails; in most cases.

A specific use case we have right now is that we have two (maybe three?)
people wanting to work on an installer for OSHIP. They aren't using the
mailing list. They are all talking directly to me. This is wasting
their efforts when they could be coordinating and working together. As
well as building a history in the list archives of the project. Which
is very helpful when if comes to seeking funding.

Another point I'd like to make is that I do not personally have a
problem with this being a bi-lingual list; en & pt-BR. Most of our
contributors are native pt-BR and the rest of us can always use online
translation tools if required. I do prefer if most of it is in 'en' but
somethings just do not translate well when two or three people are
discussing technical issues and I would rather see them get the job
accomplished as opposed to language being a barrier to progress.

But, please do discuss things on the list and whether you've been here
one day or one year; be respectful of other's ideas and opinions.

Regards,
Tim
