Re: Reorganize installation documents

Hi, Roger:
Maybe it's enough to raplace the docs in the repository by a short README file, like this:
"""
OSHIP is a free software project that has the following dependencies: Bazaar, gcc, Python, Zope and Grok. See platform-specific installation instructions here: https://answers.launchpad.net/oship/+faqs .
"""
Roberto.

Hi,

I've got two issues about the organization of the installation docs on which I'd like some feedback.

A)
I'd like to propose to strip out all the installation instructions that are in FAQ391 and
only keep links to the FAQs that are platform specific.
Possibly FAQ391 could be turned into a Question, which might have greater visibility on Launchpad.

B)
Apparently some people download software from the repository first before wanting to read instructions. Currently, those people could end up reading the documents that are within the bzr repository (which are highly outdated, right now). Taking our limited resources into account, I can see two solutions to this:

1)
remove the installation docs from the bzr-repository, and hence make everybody use the online docs at Launchpad, or

2)
replace the current installation docs in the bzr-repository with copies of the FAQs that are online at Launchpad

Any comments?

Roger
