Grok1.1

Hello Tim, and other OSHIPistas,

python2.6 is about to be supported by an official Grok release. I
think (hope) this will mean that installing on windows will become
easier because of the publicly available microsoft express compiler.
Right now we need to jump through some hoops because of mx-base (see
the faq wrt vista and xp).

Tim, I'm keen to know how you create a release for OSHIP. Maybe you
can create a document that describes the steps to do so?

I might also be available for some kind of 'real-time release
sprint/lecture', using skype and/or vnc4server & vinagre, in which I
share my desktop with you and others interested. You could then guide
me and the others through the release process by voice. I know that
Tim is not very keen on using these real-time collaboration tools, but
maybe, if we are with a few people, it can be used to disseminate
knowledge about the release process and have feedback, all very
quickly and be done with it. I hope it would not take more time than
reading, digesting, and answering various emails on the list.

Maybe this could also be the beginning of a monthly online sprint series...
Anyone interested in extreme remote :-) programming? Might be worth a CS thesis!

Cheers,

Roger
