MLHIM/OSHIP Update
Hi All,
First of all.....THANK YOU!!!! to everyone working on their assigned
Blueprints and getting the RM into better condition.
Also, Roger Erens has donated space and has been working hard on setting
up Plone sites for www.oship.org and www.mlhim.org They are very generic
at the moment; but Tania is working on new skins for them and several of
us will be adding appropriate front page content as the next few days go
by. These sites are essential to help with expanding information on
Blueprints from Launchpad as well as providing space where we can
communicate with new users better.
We have decided that it is best to avoid the join link to help keep SPAM
down. Therefore we will be sending out links for you to verify your
userid on each site. If you do not receive a join request this week or
if I mess up your userid, please let me know. The convention for
userid's is firstname_surname. Some cultures (esp. Asian) I am not
totally aware of the format so if you would like to send it to me ahead
of time great. If not and you want it changed from what I send you,
please let me know.
I will be using your public email address; first chosen from the
developer's list, then if you haven't send email to the list I will use
the one on Launchpad. So be sure they are correct.
*** BELLS/WHISTLES,etc.!!!!***
OSHIP runs on Python 2.6.4
So far I have only done this with the demo application PMTCT. It
requires some XML libraries and has a different set of installation
instructions. I have written them for Linux so far. They (and the
purpose of PMTCT can be found at: http://oship.org/demos/pmtct/ I
believe that these are viewable w/o being logged in.
Before we adapt the trunk and then the stable branch I would like some
feedback on the installation on various Linux distros and Windows. There
are apparently binaries for the xmllib and xslt packages for Windows so
they shouldn't be an issue.
There is an installation issue with PyXB. It *should* be available as
an egg. But buildout only finds PyXB-doc and halts at that point
because there is no setup.py. I have a workaround in the instructions.
I have also sent an email to the PyXB list asking for guidance on this
issue.
BTW: For those that are not aware of the PMTCT application. It is a
demo for the World Health Organization and NGO partners. It will bring
us a great deal of visibility if successful. We have Otavio Silva
working on archetype development from the clinical guidelines. This
will take some time so we will get to a certain point with the demo and
have to wait since his work is very time consuming. I plan to continue
with the current Demographic archetypes built by Sergio in order to
start that portion of the application. As well as setting up the general
archetypes needed for EHR containers.
The MLHIM website work will be ongoing and the purpose and usage of it
will require more detail in the coming weeks.
Luciana and I attended PythONCampus in Campos, RJ and truly enjoyed the
excitement there. Tarsis is working on HCKR as well as doing some RM
work.
More news next week!
Cheers,
Tim
