Re: [Blueprint win-install] MS Windows Installation Instructions

Hi Justin,

Congratulations for your achievements! Just watching your activity in your project, I can tell that you really deserved those 3 acceptances!

Cheers, Luciana.

Hi Team,

Just to update - I've been very busy this week finishing up with finals and making a very difficult decision on which REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) to choose - I got accepted to three different programs. I have one more exam tomorrow, then I will be all done for the semester. I will definitely get to this this weekend - I am aiming to have XP and Vista instructions completed.

thanks,

- Justin

    Hello Justin,

    Hi Team,

It is possible that my college has spare copies of all of these
licenses, and that I could work on a couple of installation
guides today. I have CCed my lab admin for inquiry. Paul has been
helping out our HFOSS team with all of the hardware and software
    issues that arise.

Paul, do we have some spare licenses for Vista and XP that i
could temp install in a virtual environment in the lab?

    Thanks,

    - Justin

It would be very helpful if one could start an installation
        on a freshly
installed OS and document what is needed to finish the
        installation.

Maybe the university has or can obtain a cheap educational
        license for
MS Windows that can be installed in a Virtual Environment such as
        VirtualPC, VirtualBox, or VMWare?

        Via

I can see that Vista Business, XP SP3 are popular downloads
        for academics.
